Community Responsive Education
The Memory Palace Program
Community Responsive Education (CRE) provides professional and curriculum development services for organizations and educational institutions. Founded by Glenda Macatangay and Allyson Tintiangco-Cubales, CRE is a collective of educators, community leaders, and wellness practitioners fostering humanizing educational cultures. With over 25 years of experience, CRE assists organizations in becoming more community-responsive through curriculum development, leadership coaching, and training workshops incorporating art activism and participatory action research.
Project Description
Our engagement campaign, centered on Glenda Macatangay's "Memory Palace Program," addresses trauma resulting from sexual violence, with a focus on supporting survivors from marginalized communities. Through storytelling via film and zine production, survivors creatively express their experiences, fostering healing and empowerment. The project unfolds in four phases, from participant selection to community sharing, providing trauma-informed care and artistic guidance to amplify survivors' voices and dismantle the stigma surrounding sexual violence. The outputs serve as resources for awareness and healing, promoting understanding and support for survivors' journeys.
