Sol Collective
Sol Collective is a community-based 501c3 partnership whose mission is to provide artistic, cultural, and educational programming, promote social justice, and empower youth through art, activism, music, and media experience. The Sol Collective Arts and Cultural Center is a 3,200 square foot space providing art exhibitions, community workshops, youth programming, and a platform for public organizing.
Project Description
Art and media play crucial roles in reshaping cultural narratives, especially challenging the notion that nature is solely for white enjoyment. Our initiative utilizes creative arts, cultural experiences, and media campaigns to provide safe and enriching nature exposure for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities. Partnering with Sacred Eye Productions, we'll launch online and social media campaigns, coordinate outreach with local and national media outlets, and engage community partners like Sol Collective and Latino Outdoors to amplify our message, promoting inclusivity and equity in outdoor spaces. We aim to reach over 500,000 individuals in Sacramento County and beyond through strategic efforts, fostering a narrative shift that embraces diversity and accessibility in outdoor recreation.
