Project Description
Our initiative focuses on creating a documentary film highlighting the challenges faced by Latino immigrants and people of color in farm work, starting with the 2022 farmers' march for Assembly Bill 2183. This bill aims to safeguard farm workers' rights to vote for unions outside their workplaces, addressing harassment and harsh working conditions. We strive to authentically connect with our audience by choosing a documentary format, fostering empathy and understanding.
Partnering with local organizations like the Latino Arts and Culture Center and La Familia Counseling Center, we will host documentary screenings and community forums. These events will engage the Sacramento community, raise awareness about farm workers' challenges, and promote support for legislative reforms.
