Yours Mine Ours (YMO) Collective
Sound Off for Social Justice

Our mission at YMO Collective is to bridge the social gaps by evoking impactful positive change through producing and curating culturally informative programs and events. Our focus is to 1) Build community, 2) Inspire and empower individuals of African ancestry to be change agents in their own lives, and 3) Provide navigational services and resources to repair and build individuals and families in BIPOC communities.

Project Description

Our campaign, "SOUND OFF for Social Justice," aims to raise social justice awareness and drive change in the lower quartile areas of the California Healthy Places Index (HPI) in District 8 of South Sacramento, CA. Targeting communities like Valley Hi, Laguna, Detroit, Meadowview, Oak Park, and Del Paso Heights, we provide a platform for artists and residents to voice their concerns and inspire actions for a sustainable quality of life.

We will leverage mixed media, including a website, local media outlets, billboards, and social media platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok. Partnering with local artists, leaders, and social activists, we aim to create a broad and impactful campaign that inspires social justice awareness and community engagement. Through various art forms, we seek to expose systemic injustices and foster dialogue and solutions within the BIPOC communities most affected by social injustice.
